Funding Assistance

The mandate of Bow Corridor Continuing Education Council and Alberta Advanced Education is to provide quality education to the residents of the Bow Valley.

It is our goal that all residents be able to access any adult education courses provided. If, for any reason, you feel unable to participate in our adult learning opportunities, please contact the BCCEC Coordinator at 762-8114 or email bccec@telus.net.

Specific courses can be funded through the following bursaries. These courses are indicated as bursary eligible on the course listings.

Bow Valley College Financial Support & Bursary
(provided by Bow Valley College - Canmore Campus)

Financial Assistance may be available through AHR&E or the student Finance Board.

Computer Courses may be eligible for a Rotary Club of Canmore Bursary.

(provided by Hostelling International)

Outdoor pursuits

First Aid

Town of Canmore Cultural Bursary
(provided by Canmore Recreation Centre)

Eligible courses included are:

Cultural courses from the Town of Canmore

Individuals applicants can claim up to the full course fee.

Volunteer Bursary
(provided by Banff Volunteer Centre)

To encourage, support and promote active volunteerism within our community the Banff Volunteer Centre is pleased to offer a “one time” bursary opportunity.
The following criteria applies:
Any local (Bow Valley resident) volunteer who volunteers for one of the local non-profits may apply.
Any BCCEC (*member agency) course listed in the Fall 08 calendar is eligible.
Applications will be accepted on an on-going basis, however, volunteers are encouraged to apply for the bursary when they register for the course.
To apply, please complete the funding application form on page 61 AND on a separate sheet a brief summary of volunteer work, and a sentence or two explaining how the course will enhance your volunteer position.
A single bursary of up to a maximum of $50 will be granted during each BCCEC calendar period (fall, winter, spring)
Bursary will be paid directly to the recipient AFTER proof of completion of the course (the course must be paid for at time of registration).

Bursaries are awarded by Banff Volunteer Centre not BCCEC. The successful applicant will be notified by the Coordinator at Banff Volunteer Centre.
