
If you want to travel safely in the backcountry, avalanche awareness is essential. In this course you'll learn basic snow science; hazard assessment factors such as terrain, aspect, and weather; snow pit analysis and stability estimates; guidelines for safe travel; and rescue techniques (Canadian Avalanche Association curriculum).
Participants must be capable of, and have the equipment for, uphill and downhill travel on moderate slopes. Ask for an equipment list when registering. Lift ticket cost included in your registration.
$85 per session and $150 for the field day + GST
